Analysis of 3 music videos

For my textual analysis of three music video's I have decided to go for three videos involving a fantasy or mythical theme to them as we have decided to go for a fantasy theme ourselves.

'I'd do anything for love' (but I won't do that)-Meatloaf
This music video is by rock artist Meatloaf. It is music video based upon 'Beauty and The Beast.'

It starts with the main character (Meatloaf) looking out for his love interest, however he is scared of her spotting him as his outer apperance isn't very attractive and he runs from her each time she spots his figure.

This is a very magical and extremely effective music video-The main effect they have put into this video is Meatloaf without the make-up in the mirror creating the concept of inner beauty. Also the setting supports the music very well as it is dark and candle-lit showing that love belongs to the night.

The ending of the film shows he
r holding him and his inner-image finally shows, creating the concept of 'Never judge a book by it's cover.' or 'True beauty is found within.

Love song for a Vampire-Annie Lennox
This is the main music video for the movie 'Bram Stoker's Dracula and is a very powerful music video showing the good that lives within evil. It starts with Annie lennox in a castle and then flips from her scenes to scenes from the movie.
The lighting within the music video is very dark and dim which shows the whole concept of vampire's being unable to come out in bright light. The music is also suits the concept of vampires very well as it shows there is some love within all evil or troubled. The music shows this as it is very powerful and romantic
.

Alice underground-Avril Lavigne
This is the music we have decided to use for our music video and we are basing our music video on this video. the song was used for the main theme of Tim burton's version of Alice in Wonderland and is extremely clever as they have blended Avril Lavigne's acting into the actual film so it looks like she is in wonderland herself. The lighting and props are very dark, mythical and gothic showing of Tim burton's creation.
